| UNWELCOME VISITORS? STDs Feeling lonely? Feeling left out? STDs don't play favorites and they are looking for you! If you think it can't happen to you, think again. Approximately 1 in 3 adults have an incurable STD. This free class will give you the opportunity to get solid information about many forms of sexually transmitted diseases. You will learn how these diseases are transmitted, detected and prevented. How do you talk to your partner or prospective partners about STDs? Regardless of your orientation, there is a need to understand how sexually transmitted diseases impact your life and how to use the knowledge to improve the quality of your sexual health . Mira Friedman will provide information to all these issues and answer your questions in this fun and informative workshop. |

| Mira Friedman is the Health Educator at Humboldt State University where she has been mentoring students while developing and implementing events to support the students' health. Among these, she is the coordinator of the annual sex-positivity, sexual health event SexLand. Prior to HSU Mira worked at Six Rivers Planned Parenthood as a Clinic Assistant and Sexual Health Educator from 1998 until 2004. Notably, she developed the Medical Outreach Program which continues to provide medical and educational services to the broader community outside the clinic walls. Mira is passionate about sex-positivity, reproductive freedom, and empowerment through education. |
